The reference shop for mermaid tails

A mermaid tail is a costume or swimming accessory inspired by the mythical creatures of the sea. Mermaid tails come in different designs, colours and materials, with models intended for dressing up and others specifically designed for swimming.

Some swimming models are used with a compatible monofin, which keeps the feet together and allows swimmers to practise a dolphin-style kick. Always check the product description to confirm its intended use and whether a monofin is included.

Mermaiding is an aquatic activity that combines swimming techniques with the appearance and movements of a mermaid. It involves a dolphin-style kicking motion and may be practised using specialised swimming equipment.

Unlike ordinary swimming, using a mermaid tail can restrict independent leg movement. Mermaiding is therefore intended for competent swimmers who can follow safety instructions and use the equipment in a suitable, supervised environment.

How to Choose the Right Mermaid Tail

Before choosing a mermaid tail, consider its size, design, intended use and compatibility with a monofin. Not every tail is suitable for swimming, so it’s important to check the manufacturer’s specifications.

For children, pay particular attention to age recommendations, swimming ability and the safety information provided with the product.

Safety Tips for Mermaid Swimming

Mermaid tails and monofins are not swimming aids. They can restrict movement and make it more difficult to respond to unexpected situations in the water.

Only competent swimmers should use swimming mermaid tails, and children must remain under close adult supervision. Choose an appropriate swimming pool where the equipment is permitted, follow the manufacturer’s guidance and practise removing the tail safely before swimming.
